Best surfboards in the world!

Inspiring and a joy to watch. I appreciate the inclusivity and conscientious patronage of the local community, and mentioning the carbon footprint.

I would do this, when is the next one happening. The teaching of the locals etc...

The video was almost unwatchable due to obnoxious song and poor quality...I could barely ready the scroll text...but it's not like I forked out any money so I can't complain too much. Interesting to see regardless. I think the question is which board is lighter, seeing as how they both survived more than usual stress test? ( I don't need a board I can drive my truck onto, I need a board that is 'strong enough' and also light). That being said, I made my own surfboard from scrap material..cedar and door skin ply, 6' 6"...it's about 11 lbs. The 8 ft poly/epoxy board I just re-glassed is slightly lighter than the 6' 6" wooden. I imagine balsa board is light enough, but a comparison would be interesting) personally, I'm not testing my only two boards!

This didn't show case the product at all.

I was asked to do a simple stiffness test to failure ( refer to attached video and photo’s ) on both a traditional performance polyurethane foam fibre-glassed surfboard and a balsa skinned recycled foam surfboard of similar dimensions revealed that the balsa surfboard could sustain at least twice the impact loads without failure to that of the foam fibre-glassed surf-board. The first test was to drop a 26kg dead load from half a metre. Both boards flexed and bounced without and visible cracking. The second test we dropped the same weight from ¾ of a metre, there was significant flex to the PU board but did not break. The third test was dropped at 1 metre and the PU broke and the balsa board was still untacked. The calculations on the forces dropped onto these 2 boards relates to a balsa board with 2 layers of 4 oz. fibreglass is 2 and half times stronger and more durable than a polyurethane surfboard blank with 3 layers of 6 oz. glass.
